The UK’s Most Versatile Paralympian Sarah Storey Parents Supported Her Through Every Challenge

Sarah Storey wins her 18th Paralympic gold in the time C5 time trial. As UK most accomplished athletes in both swimming and cycling her parents supported her during bullying days and athletic path.

Sarah Storey was born on 26 October 1977 in Manchester England most celebrated Paralympian. As swimmer, cyclist Storey is most excellent and prodigious athlete.

She proudly holds the title of the most honored British Paralympian with a total of 28 Paralympics medals including 17 gold medals.

Storey has had a very successful swimming career winning numerous medals. However in 2005,she switched to cycling because of persistent ear infections.

In cycling she has noticeable success including 29 world championships, 21 European championships and 75 world records.

She is an example of a talented and hardworking woman who conquered the world of Paralympian with flying colours.

Sarah Storey parents have been a fundamental to her Paralympic achievements. As per research & information about the parents of Sarah Storey, they remain private but have been a great support to her.

They have stood by her fight against bullying in school as a disabled child, and as she goes through various phases of her athletes’ life.

Not a week went by without Sarah’s early run-ins with school bullies but her parents assured her that she could overcome all the obstacles. When Sarah decided to switch from swimming to cycling due to recurrent ear infections, they continued to encourage her.

Additionally Sarah married another athlete Barney Storey who competes as a Paralympic cycling sighted pilot, guiding visually impaired tandem track cyclists.

Together they have an 11 years old daughter named Louisa and a six years old son named Charlie. Many times Sarah has expressed that she will support her children in the same way her parents supported her.

Her parents have always been so supportive and commendable for being there for her most especially in all her games.

  • When Sarah Storey was ten years old, she joined her first swimming club
  • At the age of 14, Storey started her Paralympic career as a swimmer, taking up two golds, three silvers, and a bronze.
  • The Pearl Izumi Sports Tours International women’s amateur cycling team was established in 2014 by Storey and her husband Barney Storey in support of the nonprofit organization Boot Out Breast Cancer.
