Though Paul Heyman wasn’t Ronda Jean Rousey’s biological father, he helped her succeed in the WWE, and she credits him with being a mentor and father figure.

Paul Heyman is a well-known professional wrestling personality who was born on September 11, 1965, in Scarsdale, New York.

Raised in a family of Holocaust survivors, he developed a strong work ethic. His executive, manager, and promoter work has earned him recognition.

He started his wrestling career in 1986,rose in 1993, serving as CEO of ECW, until its dissolution in 2001.

Within the WWE, Ronda Rousey and Paul Heyman have a professional connection where Heyman has been instrumental in Rousey’s creative growth.

Rousey credited Heyman with being a mentor who encouraged her to discover her potential outside of the ring during her tenure in WWE.

In addition, his creative involvement and assistance with writing promos greatly impacted her confidence and storytelling style in professional wrestling.

Heyman started working at Madison Square Garden as a photographer and journalist for the wrestling industry in 1986.

Later that year, Mr. Heyman served as the manager of the Continental Wrestling Association in Memphis.

On November 21, 1988, Paul started working for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) and later, in 1993, he established Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) in Philadelphia.

Paul revolutionized wrestling promotion in 1995 when he pushed ECW to become a nationwide pay-per-view organization.

Advertising Age magazine recognized him as one of the Top 100 Global Marketers for his marketing approaches with ECW.

Afterwards, he begin working for WWE as a Raw Is War commentator in 2001, taking Jerry Lawler’s place.

Furthermore, Heyman revived the creative direction of WWE’s SmackDown program as head writer in July 2002.

Heyman work SmackDown’s general manager in April 2004, which greatly increased the show’s ratings.

He rejoined WWE as Brock Lesnar’s legal counsel following a five-year hiatus, revealing Lesnar’s departure from the organization.

Lastly, Paul received his WWE Hall of Fame induction on April 5, 2024, in Philadelphia.
