Maggie Smith‘s health struggles began only after her diagnosis in 2007. She revealed that she had a lump in her breast, which turned out to be breast cancer.
Suddenly, one day, she began feeling unwell, and during the diagnosis, medical experts shocked her with the news.
Even during the treatment, which involved heavy chemo, she continued working on Harry Potter films. Maggie even lost her hair in the process.
Her followers and the industry expected her to return to the set after the treatment, but given her age, the process turned out very hard.
Besides breast cancer, Smith also suffered from glaucoma and underwent hip replacement surgery in her late 80s.
