Convicted felon Erik Menendez is not bald; however, his brother Lyle Menendez did suffer from premature hair thinning, as shown in their Netflix adaptation series, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.
In the first episode of the Netflix series, Lyle’s on-screen actor wore a hairpiece that his mother ripped during a dinner table argument.
This scene gained a lot of attention from fans, who wondered whether Lyle had been bald or suffered from hair loss in real life.
However, Lyle confirmed that he was not completely bald but experienced significant hair loss, which shocked many.
Additionally, Lyle also wore a wig before his parent’s demise and wore one throughout the court proceedings.
Lyle Menendez Was Privy About His Hair Loss And Even Wore A Hairpiece During His Trials In Court
Lyle Menendez started showing signs of hair loss at the young age of 20, which only worsened through the years.
However, the 56-year-old was private about his hair thinning and did not want the public to know of his hair condition.
Additionally, Lyle’s on-screen character appeared taken aback when his brother Erik learned about his hair loss. He even voiced his anger in the show, shouting:
“Because I didn’t want you to know, that’s the point, Erik! Nobody’s supposed to know.“

Fans were mainly shocked as Lyle’s photos from the trial in court in the 1990’s showed him with a full head of hair.
However, it has become public knowledge that he would put on a hairpiece before entering the courtroom and remove it afterward.
Furthermore, the show reveals that Lyle’s father, Jose, insisted he wear a toupee, stating that he would need a thick head of hair to be successful.
The felon certainly seemed insecure about his hair, considering he wore a hairpiece for every court proceeding during the early trials of the 1990s.
Additionally, in his recent mug shot taken in 2023, Lyle is completely bald and does not wear a hairpiece.
It seems that over the years, Lyle suffered extreme hair loss that has ultimately left him completely bald.
