Selling Sunset Star Amanza Still Feels Isolated And Unaccepted By The Black Community!

The Selling Sun star Amanza is loud and proud of her multiracial heritage. She has mentioned that she is of Nigerian and white heritage.

In an exclusive interview, Amanza shared:

“I like being the only black girl because it makes me feel really powerful. Because I’ve been friends with them for so long, I didn’t notice it – other people noticed it and brought it to my attention. I told Jason one day, ‘You’re welcome’ – you know, for bringing the melanin. But just because there was white, white, whiter on season one, it doesn’t mean that’s all there is in the office. We have an asian girl, we have an egpytian guy, we have a latino girl that works in the office.”

Amanza’s father is half Nigerian, half Asian, Native American, and European. Similarly, her mother is German, English, and Irish.

Amanza grew up with her mother and stepfather, who were both White, which made her lose touch with her Black side.

However, she only came in touch with her Black ancestry after reconnecting with her biological father. Additionally, Smith revealed that she likes to own her father’s side of ethnicity.

The luxury Interior Designer is very close with her father and shares heartfelt posts regarding her father on social media.

She has also opened up about the racism she has faced for not fitting the Black stereotype.

Moreover, she has spoken about difficulty finding a Black hair salon in her town and still struggles with caring for her natural hair.

Smith is trying her best to make sure her daughter doesn’t have the same problem.

The star has expressed feeling isolated from the Black community and faced criticism for being vocal about Black Lives.

She feels that the Black community has not wholeheartedly accepted her as their own.

Furthermore, Smith has voiced her sentiments regarding her blackness by stating:

I’m proud to be Black. I think it would be boring to be just one race.

Despite her many attempts to explain her Black identity and the frustration that comes along, people are still denying and questioning her authenticity.
